Cutting Costs and Improving Patient Management.
There are huge volumes of paperwork entailed in managing an effective health system from patient records and resource planning to accounting systems across a wide number of organisations. Although Government efforts to automate many of these processes are underway, there is still a strong dependence on paper-based workflow systems within NHS Trusts and community health facilities. Quality of patient care suffers dramatically when important data or records are misfiled or even lost. The administration expense entailed in keying in and keeping track of paper documents in such busy environments can be significant. Making these processes more efficient can bring cost savings to Trusts and local Health Communities, improving patient service.
The Financial Objects Document Management team has a wealth of experience working within the healthcare industry. A wide number of health departments and institutions have successfully introduced genisys to reduce the administration costs entailed in keying information from paper records into IT systems. |

| Strathclyde Hospital (NHS) uses genisys to manage documentation generated by the Mental Health Services departments. Documents are captured directly from Microsoft Word, with full document content searching facilities provided. The genisys system is also linked to the Patient records management system (PIMS) for simple retrieval of documents associated with a patient. This implementation follows a successful rollout of a system at Hairmyres Hospital (Part of the same NHS Trust) that managed the scanning and retrieval of documentation in the Accident and Emergency department. |
| Northumbria Healthcare Trust (NHS) has integrated the genisys into the proprietary system it uses to manage the handling and distribution of purchase invoices. Invoices are scanned and made available via a finance system (ORACLE Financials). |
