Despite the abundance of electronic media being made available cost-effectively to organisations, many still prefer to arm their employees with paper forms to capture data from customers or suppliers. These employees then typically enter data manually from the forms into business systems via a PC to make use of this data. The delay between capturing the data at source and it being readily available in a system can have an important impact on customer service or cash flow. Solutions that accelerate the data capture process offer organisations quick returns on their investments.
The genisys Document Management team understands the importance of cost effective data capture and management. The team can advise you on the best way to extract essential data from your documents.
genisys has a suite of Optical Character Recognition (“OCR”) and bar code recognition software to assist with automatic data capture. We are also an authorised reseller of – ‘OCR for Anydoc’. Both systems capture information directly from paper forms and electronic images, drastically reducing processing costs by performing tasks that were previously executed manually.
Users can simply scan paper forms into genisys and the OCR for AnyDoc software will extract information such as machine print, bar codes etc and collate into electronic files. OCR for AnyDoc accepts faxed forms or scanned forms passed via EDI (Electronic Document Interchange). It can also extract the information you require from your existing stored documents. |
